WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson field hockey team (2-3, 0-0 NJAC) took 18 shots, including 7 on goal, but came up short against Drew, 1-0 Sept. 12. 

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Drew's Kate Todero converted a penalty stroke to record the only goal of the game late in the first half
• WP held a strong defense that kept Drew to only two shots and zero penalty corners for the game
• WP notched two penalty corners but were unable to capitalize

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Alicia Mitchell (Morris Plains, N.J./Parsippany Hills) recorded her first collegiate start
• Three different Pioneers took shots on goal
