WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson women's soccer team (1-4) dropped their non-conference clash against Wilkes (2-1) 1-0 at Pioneer Soccer Park.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Jessica Egan got Wilkes on the board in the 31st minute, heading home Nicole Harmer's corner kick.
• Corrine Bowe (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Knolls) and Kristen Bowe (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Knolls) both had chances to equalize, however, their attempts couldn't find the back of the net.
• Megan Ponce's (Clifton, N.J./Paramus Catholic ) strike at the 85:35 mark sailed just wide of the target.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Sophomore Erica Hickey (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y./Comsewogue) tallied four saves
• WP leads the all-time series with Wilkes 5-4.

UP NEXT:

• WP starts conference play when they host Rowan on Sept. 15, at 1:00 p.m.
