GLASSBORO, N.J. – The fifth-seeded William Paterson women's basketball team (14-12, 11-7 NJAC) stayed close to fourth-seeded Rowan (16-9, 12-6 NJAC) through three quarters, but the Profs pulled away late for a 67-48 victory Feb. 17 during the first round of the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Tournament.

Tori Woetzel (Wyckoff, N.J./Ramapo) and junior guard
Julie Rovito (Ridgefield Park, N.J./Ridgefield Park) each posted 12 points, nine rebounds and five steals. Junior guard
CeCe Green (Boonton, N.J./Boonton) pulled down a team-best 10 rebounds.
Trailing 30-23 at halftime, the Pioneers cut into the deficit during the third quarter, scoring seven straight points to get within three at 35-32 with 3:01 on the clock. Down by just three (39-36) heading into the fourth, WP saw Rowan open the quarter with a 16-2 burst to seize control at 55-38 with 6:30 remaining.
Senior guard Summer Crilley led four Profs in double figures with 21 points, adding 11 rebounds and four steals. Senior guard/forward Alex Raring chipped in 15 tallies and four steals.
