WP Field Hockey Falls to #4 TCNJ 8-0 in Away NJAC Contest

Two Different Pioneers Contribute Defensive Saves

WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson field hockey team (5-7, 1-2 NJAC) dropped an 8-0 NJAC decision at #4 TCNJ (9-1, 2-0 NJAC) on Oct. 6.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Senior goalie Mallory Rickerhauser (Lumberton, N.J./Rancocas Valley Regional) collected 11 saves
  • Sophomore forward Sara Haller (Cupertino, Calif./Monta Vista) earned two defensive saves, one in the 26th minute and another in the 27th minute
  • Freshman midfielder Hope Addlesberger (Cinnaminson, N.J./Cinnaminson) recorded a defensive save in the 63rd minute
  • Junior forward Michaela Meillier (Mt. Laurel, N.J./Holy Cross) took a shot on goal late in the second half that was saved by TCNJ goalie Maddie Beaumont
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Rickerhauser is currently ranked third in career saves for WP field hockey goalies
  • Haller and junior back Alexis Land (Monroe, N.J./Monroe Twp.) are both tied for first for defensive saves this season, each with five to their name
 
UP NEXT:
WP goes on the road to Misericordia on Tuesday, Oct. 9 at 4:00 p.m. for a non-conference contest.
