WAYNE, N.J. – Despite senior goalie Mallory Rickerhauser (Lumberton, N.J./Rancocas Valley Regional) setting new record, The William Paterson field hockey team (7-10, 1-4 NJAC) suffered a 2-1 double overtime loss at Stevens (11-6, 5-2 Empire 8) on Oct. 24.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Freshman forward Abigail Viola (Monroe Township, N.J./Monroe Township) found the back of the cage by converting a pass from freshman midfielder Megan Hoopes (Westmont, N.J./Haddon Township) during a corner in the 41st minute.
- Stevens' Brynn Froehlich tied the game just before the end of the second half.
- Stevens came out on top in the second overtime period with a goal from Skylar Migliaccio.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Rickerhauser saved nine shots on goal to become the William Paterson field hockey career leader for saves with 322 saves to date.
- Viola leads the Pioneers in goals and points after tonight's performance with seven goals and 16 points so far this season.
