WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson field hockey team (2-3) suffered a 3-0 loss against visiting Albright (1-2) Sept. 13.
The Lions were awarded a penalty corner 4:02 into the contest, and senior midfielder/forward Amanda Long's shot ricocheted off WP junior goalie
Mallory Rickerhauser (Lumberton, N.J./Rancocas Valley Regional) and into the left side of the cage.
Senior forward Tracy Snyder made it a 2-0 score at the 22:00 mark off a broken corner play that resulted with a drive from the left side of the field to the near post.
Long provided her second goal of the night when a deflection in front of the goal got through the defense 1:28 before halftime.
Rickerhauser made eight saves for the Pioneers, and junior Aileen Taylor recorded the shutout for Albright.
William Paterson will play at DeSales Saturday, Sept. 16, at 1:00 p.m.
