PISCATAWAY, N.J. - After day one of the Metropolitan Championships on Feb. 17, the William Paterson women's swimming and diving team was 11th of 16 teams overall and eighth of 13 Division III teams.
Sophomore
Casey Murphy (Hardyston, N.J./Wallkill Valley Regional), senior
Vera Blazevska (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley), sophomore
Christianne Joyce Pineda (Haskell, N.J./Hackensack) and sophomore
Quinn Reynolds (Delran, N.J./Delran) helped WP to a sixth-place finish in the A Final of the 200 free relay (1:45.77). Reynolds anchored the group with a stellar time of 24.92.
Freshman
Ashley Lawler (Northfield, N.J./Mainland Regional) earned a 313.10 to place fourth in the three-meter dive, setting a new personal-best score.
The Pioneers also reached the B Final of the 400 medley relay, but they were disqualified. Reynolds, Blazevska, Pineda and Murphy represented WP in the event.
The Pioneers will continue at the Metropolitan Championships Feb. 18-19.
