Women’s Basketball Drops 63-49 Decision at Rutgers-Camden

Harris Scores Game-High 18 Points for Pioneers

CAMDEN, N.J. – The William Paterson women's basketball team (13-11, 8-9 NJAC) dropped a 63-49 decision at Rutgers-Camden (14-10, 8-9 NJAC) Feb. 11.
 
With one regular-season game remaining, WP is tied for fifth in the league standings. The top six qualify for the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Tournament that begins Feb. 18.
 
Freshman guard Gabby Harris (South River, N.J./South River) scored a game-high 18 points, adding five rebounds. Senior guard Nikole Williams (Valley Stream, N.Y./Valley Stream Central) posted eight tallies, while junior forward Tori Woetzel (Wyckoff, N.J./Ramapo) pulled down nine boards.
 
The Pioneers owned a slim 28-26 halftime lead, but the Scarlet Raptors outscored WP by a 23-8 count to build a 49-36 advantage by the end of the third quarter. Rutgers-Camden owned a 32-10 edge in point scored in the paint and a 21-10 lead in points scored off turnovers during the contest.
 
Sophomore guard Gabby Greene paced the Scarlet Raptors with 16 points. Senior forward/center Caroline Santiago added 14 tallies and nine rebounds.
 
William Paterson will celebrate Senior Night Wednesday, Feb. 15, at home against Kean at 6:00 p.m.
