Junior
Quinn Reynolds (Delran, N.J./Delran) and freshman
Daisey Ferraiuolo (Forked River, N.J./Lacey Twp.) continued their consistent seasons by winning two events apiece. The junior from Delran posted victories in the 50 free (26.66) as well as the 100 back (1:04.11), while the rookie Ferraiuolo out-touched the competition in the 1,000 free (13:17.68) and 500 free (6:28.43). The pair also contributed to WP's first-place finish in the 200 free relay (1:57.08), with Reynolds posting the fastest split (26.60) as the anchor.
Four other Pioneers turned in wins to help WP to its third consecutive victory. After winning two events Dec. 2 against Old Westbury, freshman
Kelsey Vespe (Mt. Ephraim, N.J./Audubon) garnered another win in the 200 free (2:12.54). Classmate
Iris Santos (Paterson, N.J./Passaic County Tech) also got in on the strong night put forth by WP's freshmen, winning the 100 free (59.87). She also notched 3.5 points by tying for second in the 50 free (27.53), and led off WP's victory in the 200 free relay with a split of 28.49.
Sophomore
Mariah Jenkins (Brooklyn, N.Y./St. Saviour) narrowly missed being a double winner, taking first in the 100 breast (1:18.39) and coming in second during the 200 IM (2:42.79). Junior
Christianne Joyce Pineda (Haskell, N.J./Hackensack) rounded out WP's single winners, bettering second-place finisher and sophomore teammate
Anna Boyton (Sewell, N.J./Clearview Regional) to claim the 100 fly in a time of 1:07.59. Boyton contributed to WP's first-place time in the 200 medley relay (2:09.72), joining senior
Katelyn Diva (North Haledon, N.J./Paramus Catholic), Jenkins and Vespe in the win.
Freshman
Sarah Myers (Hamilton, N.J./Nottingham) also had a good night representing the freshman class. The Hamilton native set personal bests during a pair of second-place finishes in the 1,000 free (14:58.58) and 500 free (7:16.88). She also swam the third leg in the 200 free relay-winning quartet.
WP heads to Brooklyn (3-2) Saturday, Dec. 9, at 1:00 p.m. as it closes out the 2017 half of the season, aiming for its eighth win on the year and fourth consecutive triumph.
