MONTCLAIR, N.J. – Facing its second straight top-five opponent, the William Paterson field hockey team (2-9, 0-3 NJAC) dropped a 3-0 decision at No. 3 Montclair State (12-0, 2-0 NJAC) Oct. 4.
The Red Hawks opened the scoring in the 29th minute when junior forward/midfielder Kailey Dalgauer converted through traffic from the top of the circle.
Dalgauer connected on a Meghan Mollahan pass from close on the right side, finding the inside of the right post at the 38:10 mark for her second goal of the night. Dalgauer then caused a WP turnover and set up senior forward/midfielder Kaitlyn Struss in front of goal in the 52nd minute for the game's final score.
Pioneer junior goalie
Mallory Rickerhauser (Lumberton, N.J./Rancocas Valley Regional) posted her second consecutive double-digit saves total with 11 stops, and sophomore midfielder
Shannon Super (Oaklyn, N.J./Collingswood) made a defensive save. Senior Kaitlin Maguire and sophomore Nicole Andriani combined for one stop for Montclair State.
