Courtney Lawler (Northfield, N.J./Mainland Regional) broke their own school record in the one-meter synchronized dive and senior
Vera Blazevska (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley) was a triple winner, but the William Paterson women's swimming and diving team (11-4, 0-3 NJAC) couldn't overcome Ramapo (4-3, 1-3 NJAC) in a 140-104 loss Jan. 31.
The Lawler sisters won the one-meter synchronized dive on the way to a new record of 162.31. This broke the previously held high mark, 158.15, set against FDU-Florham Oct. 22, 2016.
Blazevska paced the competition in the 100 (1:11.36) and 200 breasts (2:29.40) along with the 200 IM (2:21.15).
WP also had three swimmers win single events. Sophomore
Casey Murphy (Hardyston, N.J./Wallkill Valley Regional) claimed the 1,000 free (12:14.15), sophomore
Christianne Joyce Pineda (Haskell, N.J./Hackensack) won the 200 fly (2:37.88) and sophomore
Quinn Reynolds (Delran, N.J./Delran) secured the 200 back (2:22.00).
The Pioneers will compete in their final meet before the Metropolitan Championships when they travel to The College of New Jersey Saturday, Feb. 4, at 2:00 p.m.
