WAYNE, N.J. - Sophomore
Casey Murphy (Hardyston, N.J./Wallkill Valley Regional) was a triple winner and all four William Paterson women's swimming and diving seniors won events to help the Pioneers (11-2) to a 113-57 Senior Day victory against Bard (1-6) Jan. 21.
Murphy won the 200 (2:12.80), 100 (1:01.26) and 500 (6:05.36) frees for her second triple-winning performance in three meets.
The four senior winners for the Pioneers were
Vera Blazevska (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley), just missing record times in the 100 IM (1:04.51) and 50 breast (32.48),
Cassandra Beck (Lusby, Md./Patuxent) in the 1,000 free (13:17.78),
Christine Gustafson (Clifton, N.J./Clifton) in the 50 back (33.36) and
Courtney Lawler (Northfield, N.J./Mainland Regional) in the one-meter dive (194.86). The seniors combined to earn a victory in the 200 free relay (2:01.27).
Sophomore
Christianne Joyce Pineda (Haskell, N.J./Hackensack) won the 50 fly (29.70), sophomore
Quinn Reynolds (Delran, N.J./Delran) won the 50 free (27.94)Â and freshman
Ashley Lawler (Northfield, N.J./Mainland Regional) posted a winning score in the three-meter dive (198.25) to round out WP's victories.
During the meet, the Pioneers honored senior members Beck, Blazevska, Gustafson and
Courtney Lawler.
The Pioneers will host Montclair State in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) meet Saturday, Jan. 28, at 1:00 p.m.
