BRONX, N.Y. - The William Paterson women's swimming and diving squad (10-2) had seven individual winners and also claimed two relays as it cruised past Lehman (2-7), 123-84, Jan. 14.
Senior
Vera Blazevska (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley) paced things for WP, winning the 200 IM (2:35.39), 100 free (1:01.20) and 1,000 free (12:16.93).
WP also had two double winners. Sophomore
Quinn Reynolds (Delran, N.J./Delran) won the 50 free (27.24) and 100 back (1:06.27), while freshman
Ashley Lawler (Northfield, N.J./Mainland Regional) posted winning scores in the one-meter (188.05) and three-meter (169.60) dives.
Freshman
Mariah Jenkins (Brooklyn, N.Y./St. Saviour) was one of four single winners as she posted her first career individual victory with a win in the 100 breast (1:20.02). Freshman
Janice Costa (Clifton, N.J./Bergen Arts and Science) secured the 200 free (2:20.32), sophomore
Christianne Joyce Pineda (Haskell, N.J./Hackensack) prevailed in the 100 fly (1:08.63), and sophomore
Casey Murphy (Hardyston, N.J./Wallkill Valley Regional) was the fastest in the 500 free (5:52.69).
The Pioneers won both relays on the day. Murphy, Pineda, Costa and Reynolds combined to win the 200 free relay (1:52.36) and Jenkins, Pineda, senior
Christine Gustafson (Clifton, N.J./Clifton) and freshman
Anna Boyton (Sewell, N.J./Clearview Regional) out-touched Lehman in the 200 medley (2:09.44).
The Pioneers will celebrate Senior Day Saturday, Jan. 21, against Bard at 1:00 p.m.
