WAYNE, N.J. – Four different Pioneers got into the scoring column as the William Paterson women's soccer team (2-0-1) secured a 4-0 victory against Centenary (1-2) Sept. 7.
Sophomore back
Darcy Perez (Bergenfield, N.J./Bergenfield) broke the scoreless deadlock in the 36th minute when she ripped a shot from the top of the box and found the upper-right corner of the frame for her first career goal.
Freshman midfielder
Kristen Bowe (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Knolls) one-timed a
Marisa Adelman (Branchburg, N.J./Somerville) cross into the box to double the lead in the 40th minute.
Freshman forward
Carla LaRocca (East Brunswick, N.J./East Brunswick) delivered a cross from the right wing and junior back
Diana Perez (Ocean Twp., N.J./Ocean Twp.) knocked it inside the right post at the 49:45 mark for her first career strike.
Freshman midfielder
Lorraine Moffitt (Paramus, N.J./Paramus) played a through ball for Adelman, who found the right post in the 72nd minute for a 4-0 edge.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Angela Sandelli (Landing, N.J./Roxbury) made two saves for the shutout, while freshman Taylor Pryslak had six stops for Centenary.
The Pioneers will play at FDU-Florham Saturday, Sept. 10, at 5:30 p.m.
