BABSON PARK, MASS. – Junior midfielder
Dante Petrocelli (Succasunna, N.J./Roxbury) had a hand in both goals as the William Paterson men's soccer team (2-1) secured a 2-1 victory at Babson (1-2) Sept. 4.
Junior midfielder
JP Gonzales (Paterson, N.J./Passaic County Tech) played a long diagonal ball from the left sideline deep in his defensive end for Petrocelli, who took one touch at the top of the box and ripped a shot into the upper left corner at the 11:29 mark.
The Pioneers put the game away on senior forward
Fabian Allen's (Morristown, N.J./Morristown) marker following a goal kick with 1:10 to go. Petrocelli collected a loose ball at the midfield line and found Allen, who slotted a low shot past charging junior keeper James Takami.
Freshman keeper
Kyle Quigley (Columbus, N.J./Northern Burlington Regional) made three saves for WP, while Takami collected six stops for Babson.
The Pioneers will host Mount Saint Vincent Wednesday, Sept. 7, at 5:00 p.m.
