PATCHOGUE, N.Y. – Freshman midfielder Lorraine Moffitt's (Paramus, N.J./Paramus) goal in the 79th minute lifted the William Paterson women's soccer team (5-1-1) to a 1-0 victory at St. Joseph's-Long Island (2-5) Sept. 21.
 
During a scramble off a Pioneer corner kick, Moffitt back-heeled a ball into the net for the lone goal of the night.
 
Sophomore goalkeeper Angela Sandelli (Landing, N.J./Roxbury) made two saves for her third shutout of the season. Freshman Samantha Wedderburn had six stops for the Golden Eagles.
 
The Pioneers will host No. 12 Rowan Saturday, Sept. 24, at 5:30 p.m.
