READING, PA. – The William Paterson field hockey team (4-2) saw its four-game win streak halted by Albright (3-1) after a 3-1 decision Sept. 15.
The Lions struck first when junior midfielder/forward Amanda Long finished a Marley Berger pass to the left corner of the cage in the 22nd minute.
The Pioneers leveled the score at the 48:10 mark when freshman midfielder
Shannon Super's (Oaklyn, N.J./Collingswood) shot was blocked and senior midfielder
Meghin Stanton (Chesterfield, N.J./Northern Burlington Regional) knocked in the rebound.
Albright took the lead back 11 minutes later when junior forward Tracy Snyder used a Kendra Delgado pass for a man-down goal during a penalty corner.
Long added an insurance goal with 5:29 remaining, scoring off a Berger assist.
Sophomore
Mallory Rickerhauser (Lumberton, N.J./Rancocas Valley Regional) made seven saves for WP, and sophomore Aileen Taylor notched one stop for the Lions.
The Pioneers will host Vassar Monday, Sept. 19, at 7:00 p.m.
