Men’s Swimming and Diving Comes Up Short at Staten Island

Junior Anthony Taboadela won the 200 IM and 100 breast at Staten Island.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y.  –  William Paterson men's swimming and diving (5-2) came up just short at Staten Island (2-0), falling 123-114 Nov. 8.
 
Junior Anthony Taboadela (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Hills) secured the 200 IM (2:05.68) and 100 breast (1:04.34) to lead WP as a double winner.
 
Sophomore Drew Macchia (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) won the 100 free (50:48), and joined junior Sammuel Melendez (West Haverstraw, N.Y./North Rockland), senior Jeremy Oiler (Hamilton, N.J./Nottingham) and senior Nick Cowie (Newton, N.J./Newton) to win the 200 free relay (1:35.19).
 
William Paterson begins New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) competition as it heads to Rowan Friday, Nov. 11, at 6:00 p.m.
