MAHWAH, N.J. – Freshman goalkeeper
Kyle Quigley (Columbus, N.J./Northern Burlington Regional) came up with three saves during the penalty-kick shootout, allowing second-seeded William Paterson (8-8-3) to advance after a 0-0 double-overtime draw against third-seeded Moravian (8-4-5) in the first round of the ECAC Men's Soccer Tournament Nov. 12 at Ramapo College.

WP moves on to the quarterfinals Sunday, Nov. 13, against fourth-seeded Staten Island (12-7-2), a 1-0 first-round winner against top-seeded Ramapo (10-5-3). The Pioneers and Dolphins will meet at 12:00 p.m. at Ramapo to decide which team moves on to the ECAC semifinals Saturday, Nov. 19.

Both teams had their scoring opportunities, combining for 43 shots during regulation and the two overtime periods.

The Greyhounds started the shootout, but Quigley turned away Hunter Ackerson's attempt with a dive to his left. Senior back
Tyler Burd (Hillsborough, N.J./Hillsborough) gave WP a 1-0 edge when he converted to the lower-left corner of the goal.

Another Quigley save to his left stopped a David Durski shot, and freshman forward
Oscar Castillo (Paterson, N.J./Passaic County Tech) drilled his attempt to the lower left for a 2-0 Pioneer advantage.

Sophomore forward Kenny Fellows got Moravian on the board during the third round when he fired to the upper-right corner, and a WP attempt high left it a 2-1 score.

Quigley dove to his right to turn away Ron Jones' attempt, and sophomore back
Zach Perez (Edison, N.J./Rutgers Prep) ended the shootout at 3-1 with a kick to the bottom-right corner of the frame.

Quigley made 10 saves for the Pioneers, and junior Bryan Yaskowski finished with 10 stops for the Greyhounds.
