WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson volleyball team (14-13) lost a hard-fought 25-22, 25-22, 26-24 decision to New Rochelle (19-9) on Senior Night Oct. 27 at the Rec Center.
 
Sophomore outside hitter Christine Griffith (Upper Saddle River, N.J./Northern Highlands Regional) paced WP with nine kills, and sophomore setter Kendall Caruso (Secaucus, N.J./Secaucus) had team bests of 18 assists and seven digs. Freshman outside/middle hitter Alyson Toman (Secaucus, N.J./Secaucus) put down seven kills, and junior libero Julianna Ginefra (Springfield, N.J./Jonathan Dayton) collected six digs during the season finale.
 
Freshman setter/right side hitter Cristal Liciaga led the Blue Angels with 14 kills, adding 19 assists. Senior setter Melanie Ann Lopez Soto had 24 assists, and sophomore defensive specialist Stephanie Garcia added nine digs.
 
Prior to the match, WP honored its lone senior Erin Roach (Clark, N.J./Union County Vo-Tech).
