WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson men's soccer team (8-8-2, 3-6 NJAC) suffered a 2-0 Senior Night loss against No. 7 Rutgers-Newark (18-2, 8-1 NJAC) in the regular-season finale Oct. 26.
Sophomore midfielder Stefano Muniz fed a ball up the right seam to freshman forward Fabio DeSousa, who connected to the left side of the frame for a 1-0 edge in the 73rd minute.
A Pioneer foul inside the box resulted in a Sebastian Gostynski penalty kick at the 79:08 mark.
Freshman
Kyle Quigley (Columbus, N.J./Northern Burlington Regional) made three saves for the Pioneers, and freshman Andres Medina finished with eight stops for the Scarlet Raiders.
