Men’s Soccer Falls on Senior Night, 2-0

Pioneers Lose to No. 7 Rutgers-Newark

WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson men's soccer team (8-8-2, 3-6 NJAC) suffered a 2-0 Senior Night loss against No. 7 Rutgers-Newark (18-2, 8-1 NJAC) in the regular-season finale Oct. 26.
 
Sophomore midfielder Stefano Muniz fed a ball up the right seam to freshman forward Fabio DeSousa, who connected to the left side of the frame for a 1-0 edge in the 73rd minute.
 
A Pioneer foul inside the box resulted in a Sebastian Gostynski penalty kick at the 79:08 mark.
                                                                                    
Freshman Kyle Quigley (Columbus, N.J./Northern Burlington Regional) made three saves for the Pioneers, and freshman Andres Medina finished with eight stops for the Scarlet Raiders.  
 
Prior to the match, WP honored its six seniors Fabian Allen (Morristown, N.J./Morristown), George Bardis (Toms River, N.J./Monsignor Donovan), Tyler Burd (Hillsborough, N.J./Hillsborough), Juan Sebastian Londono (Morristown, N.J./Morristown), Hamilton Pereira (Newark, N.J./East Side) and Sebastian Siclari (North Haledon, N.J./Don Bosco Prep).
