STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – All six Pioneers were double winners as the William Paterson tennis team (2-8) finished its season with a 9-0 victory at Staten Island (6-7) Oct. 19.
 
Senior Brittany LaBruna (Bloomingdale, N.J./Continental Academy) was a 7-6 (7-2), 6-2 winner at first singles, and freshman Kaworu Ishikawa (Egg Harbor Twp., N.J./Egg Harbor Twp.) earned a 6-7 (5-7), 7-5, 7-6 (10-4) victory at second singles. Sophomore Stephanie Doot (Hawthorne, N.J./Hawthorne) posted a 6-1, 6-4 win at third singles, while junior Brianna Boyd (Delran, N.J./Delran) was a 6-1, 6-0 victor at fourth singles. Sophomore Jessica Papin-Yukhtanova (Newton, N.J./Newton) finished with a 6-0, 4-0, retired decision at fifth singles, and freshman Michele Boyle (Pompton Plains, N.J./Pequannock Twp.) was a 6-0, 6-0 winner at sixth singles.
 
LaBruna and Boyd collected an 8-5 victory at first doubles, and Ishikawa and Papin-Yukhtanova earned an 8-2 win at second doubles. Doot and Boyle were 8-6 winners at third doubles.
