Pioneers Register Win at Brooklyn

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Freshman forward Marisa Adelman (Branchburg, N.J./Somerville) exploded for four goals as the William Paterson women's soccer team (11-4-1) earned a 5-0 victory at Brooklyn (5-6-2) Oct. 17.

Adelman finished a pass from senior midfielder Sidney Gabrich (Washington, N.J./Warren Hills Regional) 17:33 into the contest, then pounced on a through ball by freshman midfielder Kristen Bowe (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Knolls) to the front of the goal six minutes later.

Freshman forward Carla LaRocca (East Brunswick, N.J./East Brunswick) crossed a ball that Adelman finished from five yards out in the 42nd minute, and a through ball by junior back Adrianna Oliveira (Union, N.J./Union) was knocked in by Adelman from five yards away at the 49:18 mark.

Junior back Diana Perez (Ocean Twp., N.J./Ocean Twp.) finished the scoring with 6:09 remaining when she got on the end of an Ellie Palmer (Sicklerville, N.J./Timber Creek) corner kick.

Sophomore goalkeeper Torii Zamorski (Linden, N.J./Union Catholic) played the first 17:27 for the Pioneers, and classmate Angela Sandelli (Landing, N.J./Roxbury) made one save to finish off the shutout. Senior Samantha Rodriguez had 11 stops for the Bulldogs.
