WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson women's soccer team (10-4-1, 3-4 NJAC) rallied from an early deficit for a 3-1 home victory against Stockton (9-5-2, 3-3-1 NJAC) Oct. 15.
Sophomore midfielder Abigayle Musto sprang junior forward Lindsey Thomas on a fast break, and she finished inside the left post for a 1-0 Osprey advantage less than 11 minutes into the contest.
Freshman midfielder
Lorraine Moffitt (Paramus, N.J./Paramus) sent a ball long for freshman forward
Marisa Adelman (Branchburg, N.J./Somerville), who put a shot inside the right post from 10 yards out for the equalizer at the 35:30 mark.
Senior midfielder
Amanda Carmichael (Matawan, N.J./Matawan Regional) found a loose ball in the box off a corner kick and converted to hand the Pioneers a 2-1 edge 68 seconds into the second half.
Sophomore back
Darcy Perez's (Bergenfield, N.J./Bergenfield) free kick was headed in by Adelman for a 3-1 margin in the 67th minute.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Angela Sandelli (Landing, N.J./Roxbury) made four saves for WP, while sophomore Nicole Pallante did not make a stop for Stockton.
William Paterson will play at Brooklyn Monday, Oct. 17, at 6:00 p.m.
