The Gothic Knights scored the equalizer in the 73rd minute thanks to a Mallensey Vargas unassisted goal as she gathered a loose ball and finished to the top shelf.
Freshman midfielder
Kristen Bowe (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Knolls) got on to a loose ball, beat a defender and scored to the right side of the frame from the left side of the box for the game-winning goal 2:54 into the second extra session.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Angela Sandelli (Landing, N.J./Roxbury) made two saves for WP, and junior Paula Viana posted five stops for NJCU as the Pioneers enjoyed a 17-3 shot advantage.
William Paterson will host John Jay Monday, Oct. 3, at 6:00 p.m.
