MONTCLAIR, N.J. – The William Paterson men's swimming and diving team (9-5, 0-3 NJAC) fell at Montclair State (8-3, 1-2 NJAC), 158-127, Jan. 30.
Sophomore
Anthony Taboadela (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Hills) was a triple winner as he touched first in the 100 (55.26) and 200 (2:00.81) backs as well as the 200 IM (2:05.40).
Senior
Gennaro Sirianni (North Bergen, N.J./North Bergen) contributed two victories, recording the highest scores in both the one-meter (152.70) and one-meter optional (175.27) dives.
Freshman
Drew Macchia (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) touched first in the 50 free (23.08), and junior
Nick Cowie (Newton, N.J./Newton) won the 100 fly (56.02).
The Pioneers' 200 free relay team consisting of Cowie, Macchia, senior
Nicolai Robinson (Matawan, N.J./Old Bridge) and junior
Jeremy Oiler (Hamilton, N.J./Nottingham) out-touched the Red Hawks by one tenth of a second (1:35.18) to secure the victory.
The Pioneers will host The College of New Jersey Saturday, Feb. 6, at 1:00 p.m.
