GALLLOWAY, N.J. – The William Paterson men's basketball team (9-10, 4-8 NJAC) suffered an 82-60 loss at Stockton (14-5, 9-3 NJAC) Jan. 30.
Junior forward
Richy Espinal (Ridgefield Park, N.J./Ridgefield Park) was 5-for-10 (.500) from the field for a team-best 16 points, adding eight rebounds. Senior guard
Bright Mensah (Hackensack, N.J./Hackensack) posted 15 tallies, nine boards and four assists, while senior guard
Terik Bridgeman (Harlem, N.Y./Nia Prep) finished with 10 points.
The Ospreys built a 36-22 halftime lead, and when the Pioneers later cut the advantage to seven (52-45, 12:25), Stockton answered with a 17-4 burst during the next six and a half minutes, pushing ahead by a 69-49 count.
Senior guard Armin Cane paced the Ospreys with 22 points, chipping in six rebounds and four assists. Junior forward Jaymere Hadden posted 16 tallies, six boards and five assists. Stockton enjoyed a 33-4 edge in points scored off turnovers and a 23-3 advantage in second-chance points.
William Paterson will host Rutgers-Camden Monday, Feb. 1, at 8:00 p.m.
