Women’s Swimming and Diving Defeats Queens, 126-101

Murphy Posts Pair of Victories for Pioneers

Freshman Casey Murphy was a double winner against Queens.

WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson women's swimming and diving team (7-3) triumphed over Division II Queens College (3-4), 126-101, Jan. 12.

Freshman Casey Murphy (Hardyston, N.J./Wallkill Valley Regional) captured first in the 1,000 (12:31.61) and 500 free, posting her personal best time of 5:22.89, to record her first double win of the season.

Junior Vera Blazevska (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley) claimed two victories, touching first in the 200 IM (2:21.77) and 100 breast (1:10.86).

Senior Hannah Hillebrand (Stony Point, N.Y./North Rockland) recorded the highest scores in the one-meter (166.30) and the one-meter optional (207.00) dives.

Freshman Quinn Reynolds (Delran, N.J./Delran) swam the fastest 100 back (1:06.29), while junior Christine Gustafson (Clifton, N.J./Clifton) secured the victory in the 100 fly (1:07.00).

The Pioneers will celebrate Senior Day when they host Lehman Saturday, Jan. 16, at 1:00 p.m.
