POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Senior midfielder
McKenna Reynolds (Delran, N.J./Delran) scored her third goal in two games, providing the lone goal of the William Paterson field hockey team's (1-1) 1-0 victory against Manhattanville (0-2) Sept. 4 in the first round of Vassar's Betty Richey Tournament.
The Pioneers were awarded a penalty corner, and after shots by junior midfielder
Courtney Allen (Woodbine, N.J./Ocean City) and junior forward
Maureen Gill (Branchville, N.J./High Point Regional) were saved, Reynolds finished the third opportunity at the 28:21 mark.
Senior
Meg Davies (Havertown, N.J./Haverford) had two saves for WP, and junior Meghan Hughes' five stops were aided by two Valiant defensive saves.
William Paterson will play host Vassar in the championship game Saturday, Sept. 5, at 3:30 p.m.
