MONTCLAIR, N.J. – The William Paterson men's soccer team (3-5-2, 0-2-1 NJAC) leveled the score during the first half, but No. 10/10 Montclair State (11-1, 3-0 NJAC) came up with the game winner in overtime, 2-1, Sept. 30.
Junior Mike Olla gave the Red Hawks a 1-0 edge in the 17th minute off an assist from sophomore Kyle Goodwin, but junior midfielder
Musa Sackoon (North Plainfield, N.J./St. Benedict's Prep) scored the equalizer, unassisted, at the 21:59 mark.
Goodwin found the back of the net for the game winner 6:25 into the extra session.
Freshman
Mike Villegas (Bergenfield, N.J./Pascack Valley) made five saves for the Pioneers, and freshman Mike Saalfrank posted three stops for MSU.
William Paterson will host Stockton Saturday, Oct. 3, at 1:00 p.m.
