A double by junior third baseman K.C. Abel (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley), an AJ Flores (West Orange, N.J./West Orange) walk and an error loaded the bases for the Pioneers with one out in the top of the seventh inning, and junior shortstop Victor Sanchez (Haverstraw, N.Y./North Rockland) drove in WP's first run of the game with an RBI-single through the right side.

Junior right fielder Jimmy Kenny (Fairfield, N.J./West Essex Regional) sent a base hit up the middle and advanced to second on an error to lead off the ninth, and freshman catcher Jorge Solodkin (Short Hills, N.J./Millburn) promptly followed with a run-scoring single up the middle.
