Men’s Basketball to Play at No. 21 Stockton in NJAC Tournament Final Friday; FREE Fan Bus!

Second-Seeded Pioneers to Play at Top-Seeded Ospreys at 7:00 p.m.

PITMAN, N.J. – Second-seeded William Paterson (20-6, 13-5 NJAC) will play at top-seeded Stockton (21-5, 14-4 NJAC) in the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Men's Basketball Tournament championship game Friday, Feb. 27, at 7:00 p.m. Live statistics, live video  and WP Radio's live broadcast will be available.

A FREE fan bus is available -- WP students are encouraged to sign-up in advance in the Campus Activities Office (Student Center Room 302) to guarantee a seat. The bus departs campus at 3:45 p.m. from the Lot 5 Bus Shelter.  All William Paterson students with valid student ID will be admitted to the game for free! General Admission is $5.00. Students, children 12 and under, and senior citizens will be admitted for $2.00.

The Pioneers are coming off a 63-61 semifinal victory against sixth-seeded New Jersey City (13-14, 9-9 NJAC) Feb. 24. Earlier this season, WP lost at Stockton 53-45 (Dec. 6), and suffered a 61-57 home loss against the Ospreys (Jan. 31).

William Paterson is looking to win its 12th NJAC Men's Basketball Tournament title (1972, 1980, 1983, 1984, 1985, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2006, 2010, 2012) and is making its 14th NJAC Tournament final appearance, including its sixth trip in the last 10 years (1972, 1980, 1983, 1984, 1985, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2006, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2014, 2015).
 
A 2014 and  2015 second-team all-NJAC selection, senior 6-2 guard Sandy Burgos (Fort Lee, N.J./Fort Lee) is contributing a team-high 17.7 points per game (third in conference). A member of the All-NJAC First Team as well as the Dec. 15 and Jan. 26 NJAC Player of the Week, junior 6-6 guard/forward Terik Bridgeman (Harlem, N.Y./Nia Prep) is averaging 15.7 tallies (10th in conference) and team bests of 7.4 rebounds (third in NJAC) and 1.7 blocked shots (second in league) per game. Junior 6-4 guard Bright Mensah (Hackensack, N.J./Hackensack), the 2015 NJAC Defensive Player of the Year, is posting 10.4 points, 5.5 boards and a team-high 2.4 assists per contest, while senior 6-3 guard Jaques Conceicao (Massama-Lisboa, Portugal/Francais Charle Lepierre) is averaging 8.1 tallies and 5.0 rebounds per game.
