Women’s Basketball Runs Away from NJCU, 64-47

Milne Leads Balanced Attack for Pioneers

JERSEY CITY, N.J. – Thirteen different Pioneers got into the scoring column as the William Paterson women's basketball team (4-2, 2-0 NJAC) ran away from host New Jersey City (1-4, 0-2 NJAC) for a 64-47 victory Dec. 2.
 
Senior forward Alex Milne (Howell, N.J./Howell) paced WP with 12 points, nine rebounds and four assists. Junior guard Nikole Williams (Valley Stream, N.Y./Valley Stream Central) added eight tallies and five boards.
 
The Pioneers built a 33-17 lead by halftime, and was ahead by as many as 22 at 62-40 with 4:39 to play. WP dominated the glass, compiling a 48-27 rebounding advantage and an 18-2 edge in second-chance points, and owned a 31-18 advantage in points scored off turnovers.
 
Sophomore forward Ariana Gomez (Garfield, N.J./Garfield) collected seven points and six rebounds, and senior guard Brittany Harden (Millville, N.J./Sacred Heart) chipped in six tallies and six caroms.
 
Senior guard/forward Deseree Johnson led the Gothic Knights with 16 points, while junior guard/forward Jazz Randall finished with 10 tallies and four assists.
 
William Paterson will host Stockton Saturday, Dec. 5, at 3:00 p.m.
