Video Highlights WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson women's soccer team (3-6-2) dropped a 3-1 decision to visiting Drew (5-6-1) Oct. 6.
Senior Shannon Slowey opened the scoring in the 19th minute when her high shot trickled off the keeper's hands and into the goal. Freshman Meghan McDermott doubled Drew's advantage 10 minutes later when she received the ball at the middle of the box from senior Emma Campbell and finished high.
Junior midfielder
Sidney Gabrich (Washington, N.J./Warren Hills Regional) broke through for the Pioneers in the 79th minute, pulling the keeper out of the box and then beating two defenders with her shot.
Campbell answered for the Rangers seven minutes later when she finished to the right corner of the frame.
Freshman
Liz Murzyn (Glassboro, N.J./Glassboro) and senior
Kat Clint (Flanders, N.J./Mount Olive) each made one save for WP while splitting time in goal. Juniors Andee Higgins and Ryan Jackson combined for eight Ranger stops.
William Paterson will play at Kean Saturday, Oct. 10, at 4:00 p.m.
