UNION, N.J. – The William Paterson women's soccer team (3-7-2, 1-3-1 NJAC) suffered a 5-0 loss at Kean (8-4-1, 3-1-1 NJAC) Oct. 10.
Twelve minutes into the match, sophomore forward Kaitlyn Pallitto broke the scoreless tie on a breakaway feed from sophomore forward Emily Jurcsek, drawing out the goalkeeper and finishing to the open net. A little over 15 minutes later, Jurcsek collected a pass from junior midfielder Kayla Birth from 15 yards out and finished after maneuvering the keeper. The final goal of the half came six minutes later when Jurcsek got past two defenders and drew out the goalkeeper to score, unassisted.
Senior forward Deanna Columbia scored back to back in the 68th and 69th minutes of the second half. After senior
Kat Clint (Flanders, N.J./Mount Olive) saved her initial shot, Columbia finished the rebound, and she found the back of the net again off a cross from the sideline by freshman forward Sabrina Sirni.
Clint finished with six saves for WP, and senior KC Nunez and junior Lauren Healey combined for five stops.
William Paterson will host Rutgers-Newark Wednesday, Oct. 14, at 4:00 p.m.
