WAYNE, N.J. - The William Paterson men's swimming and diving team (2-0) defeated Baruch (0-1), 133-97, during the Pioneers' home opener Oct. 27.
The Pioneers benefitted from a pair of double winners, as sophomore
Anthony Taboadela (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Hills) took the 100 back (55.68) and 100 breast (1:03.74) and junior
Nick Cowie (Newton, N.J./Newton) finished first in the 100 fly (55.95) and 200 IM (2:12.07). Taboadela also set a new WP school record in the 100 IM, swimming a 56.69.
Senior
Gennaro Sirianni (North Bergen, N.J./North Bergen) placed first in the one-meter dive (191.70), and junior
Kenny Kneitel (Paramus, N.J./Paramus) scored highest in the three-meter dive (180.82).
Freshman
Drew Macchia (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) triumphed in the 50 free with a time of 23.02.
William Paterson will next compete at Maritime Thursday, Oct. 29, at 6:00 p.m.
