PATCHOGUE, N.Y. – Three different Pioneers got into the scoring column as William Paterson (5-8-2) rolled to a 3-0 men's soccer victory Oct. 21 at St. Joseph's-Long Island (6-10-1).
Junior midfielder
Musa Sackoon (North Plainfield, N.J./St. Benedict's Prep) scored his team-leading 11th goal of the year, connecting on a
Zach Perez (Edison, N.J./Rutgers Prep) pass in the 16th minute.
Freshman forward
Josh Sommerer (Toms River, N.J./Toms River East)? played a through ball to classmate
Fabian Allen (Morristown, N.J./Morristown), who buried it to the left side for a 2-0 margin at the 70:01 mark.
Sophomore midfielder
Dante Petrocelli (Succasunna, N.J./Roxbury) tacked on an unassisted goal with 2:39 remaining to finish the scoring.
Senior
Nico Martirano (Madison, N.J./Madison) did not have to make a save to record the shutout for WP, and junior Avery Gomez collected 10 stops for the Golden Eagles.
William Paterson will visit The College of New Jersey Saturday, Oct. 24, at 11:00 a.m.
