GLASSBORO, N.J. – The William Paterson women's soccer team (3-9-2, 1-5-1 NJAC) suffered an 8-0 loss at No. 23 Rowan (9-2-2, 4-1-2 NJAC) Oct. 16.
Junior Maxine New sent a Lisa Cella pass into the right side of the goal from 25 yards out at the 10:26 mark, then converted a penalty kick less than five minutes later for a 2-0 score.
Freshman Darah Wagner sprang sophomore Melissa Kelly for a breakaway goal in the 26th minute, and Kelly scored her second goal of the night when she knocked in an attempt off a corner kick at the 28:45 mark.
Sophomore Amanda Caballero headed in freshman Ali Hicks' corner kick 33 seconds before halftime, and freshman Cathryn McCarry scored off an assist by freshman Maddie Williscroft in the 54th minute.
Kelly finished off a hat trick with her strike at the 63:13 mark, and freshman Sami Pagnani completed the scoring in the 78th minute when she connected on a Lauren Coletti pass.
Senior
Kat Clint (Flanders, N.J./Mount Olive) posted four saves for WP, and freshman Shelby Money and sophomore Hayley Grimm combined for two Rowan stops.
William Paterson will visit Staten Island Tuesday, Oct. 20, at 4:00 p.m.
