Video Highlights WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson volleyball team (11-11, 1-5 NJAC) pressed visiting Rowan (11-11, 5-2 NJAC) throughout, but came up short in a 3-0 decision Oct. 15.
The Profs jumped out to a 12-3 lead, but the Pioneers rallied to get within five (23-18), then scored six of the next seven points to knot the score at 24-24. WP tied the score three more times, but kills by senior outside hitter Danielle Havlicek and senior middle hitter Maggie Catherina handed Rowan a 29-27 opening win.
The Profs scored 16 of the first 21 points en route to a 25-19 victory during the second set, and built an 8-2 lead on their way to a closing 25-10 win.

Erin Roach (Clark, N.J./Union County Vo-Tech) led the Pioneers with 13 kills, and tied with senior opposite hitter
Nicole Spicer (Whiting, N.J./Manchester Twp.) for the team high with 14 digs. Spicer added 11 kills, freshman setter
Kendall Caruso (Secaucus, N.J./Secaucus) had 22 assists and 10 digs, and senior libero
Michelle Merida (Parsippany, N.J./Parsippany) collected nine digs.
Havlicek posted 16 kills, junior setter Rebecca Dantonio dished 26 assists and junior libero Jennifer Vorel tallied 15 digs for Rowan.
William Paterson will host Montclair State Tuesday, Oct. 20, at 7:00 p.m.
