Giammetta Provides a Pair of Goals for Pioneers

Video Highlights

WAYNE, N.J. – The Pioneers struck the back of the cage three times during the game's first eight minutes, propelling the William Paterson field hockey team (9-4) to its sixth straight victory, a 3-0 result Oct. 13 against Union (5-7).

Senior forward Angelica Giammetta (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Hills) tipped in junior midfielder Elizabeth Kerr's (Maple Shade, N.J./Maple Shade) drive off a penalty corner at the 3:58 mark, then she struck again 59 seconds later when she got her stick onto the ball after a bottleneck formed in front of the goal.

Sophomore forward Carly Satter (Branchville, N.J./High Point Regional) got into the action, knocking her shot into the bottom-left corner of the cage at the 8:01 mark for a 3-0 WP lead.

Senior goalie Meg Davies (Havertown, Pa./Haverford) collected three saves for the Pioneers during the first half, and freshman Mallory Rickerhauser (Lumberton, N.J./Rancocas Valley Regional) posted two second-half stops. Junior Laura Aptowitz had four saves for the Dutchwomen.

William Paterson will host Stockton Saturday, Oct. 17, at 1:00 p.m.
