Men’s Basketball Cruises Past TCNJ, 78-60

Bridgeman Leads Pioneers’ Balanced Effort with 13 Points

WAYNE, N.J. – William Paterson (13-2, 8-1 NJAC) cruised to a 78-60 New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) men's basketball victory against visiting The College of New Jersey (8-8, 4-5 NJAC) Jan. 17.
 
Junior forward Terik Bridgeman (Harlem, N.Y./Nia Prep) led a balanced offensive effort with 13 points and a career-best six assists. Sophomore guard Turrell McClendon (Piscataway, N.J./Piscataway Tech) contributed 10 tallies from off the bench, and junior forward James McLane (Belleville, N.J./Queen of Peace) and senior guard Sandy Burgos (Fort Lee, N.J./Fort Lee) each posted nine points.
 
The Pioneers shot 56.0 (14-25) percent from the field and out-rebounded the Lions 22-13 to build a comfortable 41-26 halftime lead. WP pushed the advantage to as many 27 several times during the second period, finishing the game with a .545 (30-55) field-goal percentage, including a 7-for-15 (.467) effort from beyond the arc, and a 43-28 edge on the boards for its eight consecutive victory.
 
Senior forward Skyelar Ettin led TCNJ with 16 points and freshman guard Eric Murdoch, Jr. had 13 tallies.
 
William Paterson will host John Jay Monday, Jan. 19, at 2:00 p.m.
