WP's NJAC Tournament Game Notes WAYNE, N.J. – Top-seeded and 17th-ranked William Paterson (30-8, 15-3 NJAC) will host third-seeded and 22nd-ranked Rowan (31-10, 14-4 NJAC) in an elimination game of the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Softball Tournament Saturday, May 3, at 12:00 p.m..

As the top seed, WP will host the remainder of the tournament that runs through Sunday, May 4, at Pioneer Softball Field.
The Pioneers are coming off a 6-1 victory against fifth-seeded Richard Stockton (21-15, 9-9 NJAC) in the second round May 2. Earlier this season, William Paterson swept a home doubleheader with Rowan, 3-2 and 4-3 (eight innings), April 1.
Senior shortstop
Katelyn Miele (Flanders, N.J./Pope John XXIII), a four-time all-conference selection (2014, 2013 All-First Teams; 2012, 2011 All-Second Teams) and two-time all-region pick (2013 All-First Team, 2012 All-Second Team), leads WP with a .415 average, .456 on-base percentage, 51 hits, 29 RBI and five triples, adding 26 runs scored and a .569 slugging percentage. Nicole Fryer (East Stroudsburg, Pa./East Stroudsburg South) is hitting .390 with 18 RBI and two home runs, and owns the team lead with 28 runs scored. First-team all-NJAC sophomore outfielder
Kelsey Wimmershoff (Park Ridge, N.J./Park Ridge) holds a .342 average with 22 RBI, while contributing a team-high .620 slugging percentage, 11 doubles and three home runs.

Gabrielle Castelli (Cedar Grove, N.J./Cedar Grove) has a team-best 12 wins (12-2) to go along with a 1.32 ERA and 65 strikeouts in 79.1 innings pitched, holding opposing batters to a .218 in 19 appearances (seven starts). Classmate
Allison Podmajersky (Red Bank, N.J./Middletown South), the March 24 and April 14 NJAC Rookie Pitcher of the Week, owns a 9-5 record, 1.40 ERA and 82 strikeouts in 100.1 innings while holding batters to a .218 average in 16 starts and 19 appearances. Sophomore
Chelsea Batelli (Wayne, N.J./DePaul Catholic) is 6-1 with a 1.29 ERA in 10 appearances (eight starts).
A year ago, William Paterson lost its first two games in the NJAC Tournament. The Pioneers have won four NJAC Tournament titles (1999, 2003, 2005, 2009).
