Men’s Swimming & Diving Falls to Montclair State, 162-126

Pioneers Defeated by the Red Hawks

Junior Evan Marine won the 100 back for the Pioneers.
MONTCLAIR, N.J. - The William Paterson men's swimming & diving team (9-5, 0-4 NJAC) suffered a 162-126 loss to Montclair State (8-6, 1-3 NJAC) Feb 1.

Freshman Nick Cowie (Newton, N.J./Newton) touched first in the 100 fly (56.32), and junior Evan Marine (Forked River, N.J./Lacey Twp.) finished first in the 100 back (59.99).

Senior Jeffrey Jaeckel (Kenilworth, N.J./David Brearley) recorded a score of 157.27 to win the one-meter dive (five dives), and sophomore Gennaro Sirianni (North Bergen, N.J./North Bergen) posted a score of 194.40 to take first in the one-meter dive (six dives).

Sophomore Eric Tracey (Newton, N.J./Kittatinny Regional) placed second in the 50 free with a time of 23.42.

Senior Troy Buglio (Toms River, N.J./Toms River East) touched third in the 500 (5:11.42) and 1,000 (10:50.56) frees.

William Paterson will compete in the Metropolitan Championships February 14-16 at Rutgers.
