NEWBURGH, N.Y. – The William Paterson men's swimming and diving team improved to 8-1 as it defeated the Mount Saint Mary Knights (3-3) by the score of 169-91 Dec. 6.
The Pioneers were led by triple winner
Evan Marine (Forked River, N.J./Lacey Twp). The senior was the first to finish in the 100 back (59.20), the 200 back (2:13.40) and the 200 IM (2:16.03).
The Pioneers also benefited from three double winners as junior
Donado Dervishi (Garfield, N.J./Garfield) touched fist in the 100 (1:05.53) and the 200 (2:28.82) breasts. Sophomore
Nick Cowie (Newton, N.J./Newton) dominated both the 100 (56.41) and the 200 (2:12.95) flies. Freshman
Kyle Risley (Mays Landing, N.J./Mays Landing) took first in both the 50 (23.03) and the 100 (51.63) frees.

Jeremy Oiler (Hamilton, N.J./Nottingham) captured a victory in the 500 free (5:28.37) and junior
Nicolai Robinson (Matawan, N.J./Old Bridge) swam the 200 free in an impressive 1:54.09 to seal the win.
The Pioneers will be back in Wightman Pool Saturday, Dec. 13, when they host Adelphi on Parent Appreciation Day, starting at 1:00 p.m.
