CAMDEN, N.J. – Sixth-seeded William Paterson (9-8-2) had its chances but couldn't overcome third-seeded Rutgers-Camden (12-7-1), 1-0 in overtime, in the first round of the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Men's Soccer Tournament Nov. 1.
Despite a 19-5 shot advantage during regulation, the Pioneers could not find the mark and headed to overtime for the ninth time this season. Just 2:27 into the extra time, the Scarlet Raptors' Connor Hurff cleaned up a rebound of a Joe Auleta shot for the game winner.
Sophomore keeper
Mike Diacheysn (Nutley, N.J./Nutley) made four saves for WP, and freshman Sean Matias finished with nine stops for Rutgers-Camden.
