Box Score 2 NEWBURGH, N.Y. – The William Paterson volleyball team improved to 14-2 this season with a 3-0 win against Brooklyn (6-15) and a 3-2 victory at host Mount Saint Mary (9-14) Oct. 4.
The Pioneers defeated the Bulldogs, 25-18, 25-20, 25-16. Senior middle hitter
Shauna VanDeRee (Waldwick, N.J./Waldwick) led all players with 12 kills, adding seven digs, while sophomore outside hitter
Erin Roach (Clark, N.J./Union County Vo-Tech) had 11 kills and eight digs. Senior setters
Alaina Clark (Paramus, N.J./Paramus) and
Danielle Koukos (Midland Park, N.J./Midland Park) contributed 18 and 13 assists, respectively, and junior outside hitter
Michelle Merida (Parsippany, N.J./Parsippany) posted 11 digs.
Francesca LoCascio led Brooklyn with eight kills, Crystal Wu tallied 21 assists and Moineath Pen finished with 11 digs.
WP earned a 23-25, 25-12, 21-25, 25-21, 15-12 win against the Knights. VanDeRee contributed 17 kills and 15 digs, Roach posted 10 kills and 22 digs, and senior outside hitter
Daniella Salemo (Ramsey, N.J./Ramsey) had 11 kills and 15 digs. Clark collected 42 assists, 19 digs and five service aces, junior outside hitter/opposite hitter
Nicole Spicer (Whiting, N.J./Manchester Twp.) finished with nine kills and 12 digs, and freshman libero
Julianna Ginefra (Springfield, N.J./Jonathan Dayton) collected 11 digs.
Rachel Sabatini had 17 kills and 16 digs for MSMC, Claire Scully contributed 20 assists and Chelsea Barberan posted 27 digs.
William Paterson will host Richard Stockton Tuesday, Oct. 7, at 7:00 p.m.
