NEW YORK, N.Y. - The William Paterson men's swimming and diving team (1-0) won a thriller as the Pioneers triumphed in the last event to secure a 107.5-97.5 season-opening victory at Baruch (0-1) Oct. 22.
It all came down to the final event, with the winner of the 200-meter free relay also claiming the team victory.Â
Bobby Boyton (Sewell, N.J./Clearview Regional),Â
Evan Marine (Forked River, N.J /Lacey Twp.),Â
Zachary Krakauskas (Egg Harbor City, N.J./Absegami)Â and
 Nicolai Robinson (Matawan, N.J./Old Bridge) came together to swim a 1:46.69 and claim the win for the Pioneers.
Sophomore
Jeremy Oiler (Hamilton, N.J./Nottingham) touched first in the 800-meter free (10:06.45), while freshman
Kyle Risley (Mays Landing, N.J./Mays Landing) won the 50-meter free (25.42). Junior
Eric Tracey (Newton, N.J./Kittatinny Regional) recorded the 100-meter free victory with a time of 58.27.
Anthony Taboadela (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Hills),
Donado Dervishi (Garfield, N.J./Garfield), Risley and Tracey teamed up to win the 200-meter medley relay, swimming it in 1:53.75.
The Pioneers will face FDU-Florham in WP's home opener Saturday, Oct. 25, at 1:00 p.m.
