Box Score GALLOWAY, N.J. – Senior guard
Floriana Borova (Cresskill, N.J./Cresskill) contributed 29 points, nine assists and six steals but the William Paterson women's basketball team (10-8, 7-4 NJAC) couldn't get past host Richard Stockton (8-9, 5-5 NJAC), 91-81, Jan. 25.
Borova's three-pointer gave the Pioneers a 40-36 lead with 58 seconds remaining in the first half, but the Ospreys scored the final five points of the period to take a 41-40 edge into the locker room.
A 7-2 run handed Stockton a 48-42 advantage at the 16:18 mark of the second half, and the Ospreys held off several WP comeback attempts while building its largest lead of the game at 83-70 at the 3:33 mark.
William Paterson was whistled for more than twice as many fouls as Richard Stockton (34-14), allowing Richard Stockton to score 37 of its points at the free-throw line (37-53, .698) compared to WP's 6-for-12 (.500) effort at the charity stripe.
Sophomore guard
Brittany Harden (Millville, N.J./Sacred Heart) finished with 13 points and eight rebounds, and senior guard
Kristine Jackiewicz (Quakertown, Pa./Quakertown) had eight tallies and seven boards. Three starters fouled out of the contest, and two other Pioneers finished with four fouls.
Alex Nardoza led Stockton with 28 points, Lauren Alwan finished with 19 tallies and 12 rebounds, and Cara Parliament pulled down a game-best 17 boards.
William Paterson will host No. 13/13 Montclair State Wednesday, Jan. 29, at 8:00 p.m.
