Box Score 2 WAYNE, N.J. – William Paterson (3-0) swept its way to a pair of victories at its home volleyball tri-match, cruising past Manhattanville (3-2) and Farmingdale State (0-5) by identical 3-0 scores Sept. 7.
Against Manhattanville, the Pioneers trailed by five early but rebounded to take the first set, 25-17. WP jumped out to a 9-0 advantage en route to a 25-14 victory in the second, and finished off the match with a 26-24 third-set win.
Junior middle hitter
Shauna VanDeRee (Waldwick, N.J./Waldwick) and junior outside hitter
Daniella Salemo (Ramsey, N.J./Ramsey) each posted 10 kills, with VanDeRee adding a team-best 13 digs. Junior setter
Danielle Koukos (Midland Park, N.J./Midland Park) had 33 assists, three aces and seven digs, and senior outside hitter
Amanda Morales (Lyndhurst, N.J./Lyndhurst) tallied 11 digs.
WP cruised past the Rams during the night cap, 25-9, 25-17 and 25-14. Salemo paced the Pioneers with nine kills, VanDeRee had eight kills and six digs, and freshman outside hitter
Mary Long (Morristown, N.J./Morristown) led the team with 10 digs, adding six kills. Koukos contributed 30 assists and three aces.
William Paterson will visit Centenary Tuesday, Sept. 10, at 7:00 p.m.
