WAYNE, N.J. – William Paterson (10-3, 1-2 NJAC) dropped a hard-fought, three-set volleyball match to visiting Rowan (7-5, 2-1 NJAC) Sept. 26.
The Profs scored the first seven points of the match en route to an opening 25-15 victory. The Pioneers responded by building a 15-8 advantage during the second set, and still owned a three-point edge late (20-17), but Rowan battled back for a 26-24 win. The third set was another tight affair, but a final service ace by Casey Grasso handed the Profs a 26-24 victory.

Mary Long (Morristown, N.J./Morristown) led WP with nine kills, adding eight digs and four total blocks (one solo). Freshman outside hitter
Erin Roach (Clark, N.J./Union County Vo-Tech) collected 11 digs, junior outside hitter
Daniella Salemo (Ramsey, N.J./Ramsey) had 10 digs and six kills, and junior setter
Danielle Koukos (Midland Park, N.J./Midland Park) dished out 22 assists.
Sophomores Morgan Mende and Danielle Havlicek each posted 16 kills for Rowan. Grasso finished with 18 digs and freshman Rebecca Dantonio contributed 49 assists.
William Paterson will host Staten Island Tuesday, Oct. 1, at 7:00 p.m.
